COVID Policies and Precautions
We will have systems in place to keep participants as safe as possible. Much of our activity will be outdoors as weather+activity permits.
Testing at the retreat: A COVID test (home-kit) will be provided to every participant upon arriving on Fri and Sun (2 separate tests). We will be sure every participant is tested so we have *some* level of data. (But please note, most people won't test positive until AFTER they have been contagious.) If someone does come down with even mild COVID symptoms (with or without a positive test), we will evaluate as a group (e.g., maybe ask that you only participate in outdoor activities with a mask 6 ft apart).
On your nametag each day, you will have a color dot to indicate to others your level of COVID caution. You have the choice to determine how you would like to interact each day:
Green dot = I'm not concerned about COVID and will likely be mask-free when possible.
Yellow dot = I will choose to put a mask on indoors or in close-encounter situations.
Red dot = I will be staying on the periphery of the group with a mask on at all times. No hugs please. I will ask that you help me in keeping distance.
Packing List
California in winter can be cloudy and windy (a "cold" 60°), or sunny and warm with a breeze (a warm 70°). Some say we hit all four seasons during the course of the day...waking up at 40° like winter, and warming to 60° by around 11 AM which feels like springtime, sometimes hot like summer by 2pm, and then a nice cool/warm like fall later afternoon and evening.
Each day you will want comfortable yoga/stretch pants (probably not shorts), a shortsleeve shirt, a fleece or warm sweatshirt, and even a packable down puffer for the beach at night.
Other key items:
Sunglasses
Facial sunscreen
Thick yoga blanket or towel (to roll for meditation, or lay out for beach yoga)
Packable pillow if you get uncomfortable sitting (airplane neck pillow could work)
Hooded sweatshirt in case ears get irritated by wind on beach
Warm socks
Comfortable shoes for longer walks
Flip flops or slip-ons for beach
Earplugs (if light sleeper)
Small backpack for carrying essentials on beach
Face mask (some of CA is still requiring masks)
PUFFER JACKET for 40° weather
Hat and gloves (if you get cold easily at night)
Journal for inner reflection
Mala beads
